The Federal University of Technology Minna Students’ Union (FUTMSUG) has officially addressed growing concerns and speculations surrounding the semester calendar and the commencement of e-tests for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a press release issued on Monday, May 26, 2026, by the Office of the Public Relations Officer, the union disclosed that it had engaged the university management in discussions regarding a possible extension of the academic calendar in consideration of students’ welfare and academic preparation.
However, according to the statement, the university management has decided to continue operating based on the previously approved academic calendar.
The union also reacted to several circulars and e-test timetables currently circulating across student platforms and social media. It clarified that the leaked timetable being shared online was not officially released for students.
The document, the union explained, was originally intended for examiners and academic staff for internal review, adjustments, and proper categorization of courses meant for e-testing.
Students were therefore advised not to panic or rely on unofficial information circulating online. The statement further noted that tests are still expected to commence in June, in line with the already released academic calendar.
FUTMSUG assured students that the finalized and official test schedule would be communicated appropriately once approved and released by the university authorities.
The union also urged students to remain calm, focused, and academically prepared while making proper use of the short break and celebrating the Sallah festivities responsibly.
Reaffirming its commitment to students’ welfare, the Students’ Union emphasized that it would continue engaging the university management in the best interest of all students and encouraged everyone to rely only on official information released by the union and school authorities.
The statement concluded with prayers for safety, protection, and academic success for all students throughout the semester.
