Five of the students are from the Department of Theatre and Media Studies in the Faculty of Arts.
The remaining four students are drawn from the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences; Department of Geology, Faculty of Physical Sciences; Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences; and Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences.
Following the Senate’s decision, the university directed the Acting Chief Security Officer, deans, heads of departments and other relevant officials to take note of the suspension and ensure that the directive is fully implemented.
The institution reaffirmed the administrative action through the suspension orders issued to the affected students.
