The Green Bay Packers and general manager Brian Gutekunst have been heavily involved in the NFL rumor mill leading up to the November 10 trade deadline. No one knows whether or not the team will make a big move, but the rumors have been out there that they have shown interest.
Most notably, the Packers have been heavily connected to a potential blockbuster trade for Indianapolis Colts superstar running back Jonathan Taylor. They aren’t viewed as the front-runner to make that move, but they have at least had interest in swinging big.
Over the years, Green Bay has not been known as an aggressive buyer at trade deadlines. Instead, the Packers have focused on drafting and developing, while adding veteran pieces around the edges. The trade Micah Parsons last year helped change some of that lack of aggressiveness.
So far this season, the team has looked like a potential contender in some moments and a team who could miss the playoffs in others. They have the talent to be a Super Bowl caliber team. However, a move or two is needed.
With that being said, one longtime Green Bay insider has spoken out with a clear directive for the team before the deadline.

Green Bay Packers Urged to Get Aggressive at NFL Trade Deadline
Sports Illustrated’s Bill Huber believes that it’s time for the Packers to make a Super Bowl move. He thinks they should be open to making a blockbuster trade.
“To do big things requires bold actions. The Packers’ championship drought is too long. Now is the time to stop ‘being in every conversation’ and actually make the move to perhaps bring another title to Titletown,” Huber wrote.
That statement from Huber is music to the ears of the fans. Green Bay has typically opted to not make the final move that could lead to a Super Bowl winning run.
Making the trade for Taylor could be the final missing piece. The Packers could also consider an aggressive move to fix the offensive line like trading with the Philadelphia Eagles for Landon Dickerson.
Only time will tell what Green Bay chooses to do. But, it’s clear that Huber and much of the Packers’ fan base believes that the time is now for Gutekunst and the front office to take a home run swing.
