Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund Awards Scholarship to Young Keynote Speaker Ayomide Avose

The Nigerian Breweries–Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund (NB/FOETF) has awarded a full secondary school scholarship to Ayomide Avose, the young student whose inspiring keynote address at the 2025 Maltina Teacher of the Year Grand Finale earned him national recognition.

The scholarship, announced in Lagos on Wednesday, is aimed at supporting Ayomide’s secondary education by covering his tuition and other essential educational needs, while further nurturing the exceptional academic potential he displayed during the prestigious event.

Ayomide, a beneficiary of the Slum2School Africa initiative, captivated participants at the 2025 Maltina Teacher of the Year Grand Finale with a keynote speech widely praised for its confidence, eloquence and intellectual depth. His presentation highlighted the possibilities that exist when children from underserved communities are provided with opportunities to thrive.

Under the scholarship arrangement, the funding will be administered through Slum2School Africa, which will oversee the implementation of the award by providing academic monitoring, psychosocial support and other necessary interventions to ensure the student’s educational success throughout his secondary school years.

Speaking on the scholarship, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Breweries–Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund, Uzo Odenigbo, said the initiative reflects the Trust Fund’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and creating opportunities for talented young Nigerians, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
