No. 6 Indiana and Rutgers’ records couldn’t be closer, with each team tied at five wins apiece as the rivalry is revived on Saturday.

No. 6 Indiana has lost its last three meetings with Rutgers but hopes to continue its perfect 4-0 streak and re-establish who the top dog is in the Big Ten this Saturday. Three years have passed since the national champions last faced off against the Scarlet Knights, who are 1-3 overall this season and have already lost their conference opener.
A 58-7 thrashing of Howard Bison last weekend brought Rutgers its first win of 2026, one week after an agonizing one-score defeat to No. 12 USC. Indiana also played Howard earlier this term and put 55 unanswered points against the FCS side at Memorial Stadium, which could serve as an indicator of what to expect this weekend.
Curt Cignetti wasn’t part of Indiana’s program the last time it faced Rutgers and has implemented serious changes since then to shift the base of power. The Hoosiers have been boosted by the news that 383-yard, four-touchdown running back Turbo Richard is fit to feature this weekend despite an injury in last week’s win over Northwestern.
Rutgers has its own RB talisman in Antwan Raymond, who boasts five touchdowns and 438 rushing yards of his own. Receiver KJ Duff will also require some caging after catching seven touchdown passes already this year, with questions being asked as to whether the 6’6″ starlet could be a potential Heisman contender.
