The Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB) has received 20 mini buses under the 2025 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)/CR-SUBEB Quality Assurance Intervention to strengthen school supervision and improve the quality of basic education across the state.

The vehicles are expected to boost the mobility of Quality Assurance teams, enabling more effective monitoring and inspection of public primary and junior secondary schools across the 18 Local Government Areas of Cross River State.

According to the Board, the intervention will enhance school inspections, improve compliance with UBEC quality standards and support better teaching and learning outcomes in public schools.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Chairman of CR-SUBEB, Mrs. Fidelia Okpo Ene, described the intervention as a major milestone in efforts to improve education delivery in the state.

She expressed appreciation to the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, for their continued commitment to strengthening basic education through strategic investments and sustained support.

Mrs. Ene reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to building a responsive, accountable and high-performing basic education system that guarantees every child access to quality learning opportunities.

She noted that the deployment of the vehicles would further enhance the Board’s capacity to effectively monitor schools and ensure the delivery of quality education across the state.
