ASUU declares indefinite strike at Plateau State University over unpaid arrears

Other demands include the provision of safe and secure accommodation for staff, the construction of trenches around the university’s perimeter fence and an end to the alleged intimidation of union officials.

ASUU said the failure of the university management to adequately address the issues left the union with no option but to embark on industrial action.

“Congress is convinced that the substance of our demands on all six items has not been satisfactorily addressed,” the statement said.

The union added that its decision followed approval from the National Executive Council of ASUU.

Consequently, all members of the union have been instructed to suspend academic activities at the university until further notice.
