Agatha Christie Meets Hallmark In Netflix’s New Detective Series Trending At The Perfect Time

Now that it’s November, audiences are ready to snuggle up and dive into new 2026 TV shows, and the series trending on Netflix right now prove that we’re ready to stay in. It’s no surprise that the best shows on Netflix to watch as the holidays approach have elements of mystery, romance, and a cozy atmosphere that will leave viewers ready to binge every available season. While there are plenty of Netflix originals that scratch this itch, new additions to the streamer’s catalog shouldn’t be overlooked.

Some of the most popular series on any streaming service are mysteries and thrillers that draw audiences in with their incredible twists and turns. Many of the best mystery TV shows draw inspiration from Agatha Christie books, finding ways to incorporate the drama and intrigue of small-town life into shocking detective work. However, the darkest thrillers aren’t always right for the fall and winter months. There are warm, comforting mysteries taking Netflix by storm.

Mistletoe Murders is the Hallmark original series that audiences can’t stop watching on Netflix right now. Starring Sarah Drew, known for playing the TV doctor April Kepner on Grey’s Anatomy, Mistletoe Murders sees Drew step into a new role as Emily Lane, a woman with a mysterious past who moves to a small town in upstate New York and must balance running her Christmas shop with the criminal investigations that keep pulling her in.

Mistletoe Murders Is Perfect For Mystery Fans During The Holiday Season

Mistletoe Murders seasons 1 and 2 were added to Netflix on November 1st, and the cozy mystery series has already begun to dominate the charts on the streaming service. As audiences gear up for the holidays, it’s the perfect time for Mistletoe Murders to join the Netflix catalog, giving viewers a series that blends mystery with romance and small-town charm, like all the best projects from Hallmark. Drew is joined by co-star Peter Mooney, who plays the detective, Sam Wilner, who isn’t too sure about Emily’s off-the-books investigations.

Set in the town of Fletcher’s Grove, the series follows Emily as she moves in and starts running her Christmas shop, a seemingly normal new resident of the tight-knit community. However, the secrets Emily has been keeping about her past rear their head when murder comes to stay in Fletcher’s Grove. It doesn’t take long for Sam and Emily to team up and go on some Christmas-themed adventures to prove the innocence of some townspeople and track down the real killers.

Already in the top ten TV shows streaming on Netflix (via FlixPatrol), Mistletoe Murders is exploding in popularity for good reason. With only 12 total episodes on Netflix, it’s hard to stop watching Mistletoe Murders once you’ve started. From the chemistry between Emily and Sam to the Christmas mysteries that will make viewers feel like the holidays are just around the corner, Mistletoe Murders isn’t corny, as some Hallmark shows are criticized for being, but a heartwarming project with a thrilling edge that sets it apart.

Mistletoe Murders Season 3 Premieres November 5th (But Not On Netflix)

Mistletoe Murders season 3 premieres Thursday, November 5th, at 8/7c on Hallmark+. Unfortunately, fans won’t be able to watch the next installment of the show on Netflix, but based on the audience that Mistletoe Murders has already found on the streaming service, it wouldn’t be surprising to see season 3 of the series make its way to Netflix before too long. In the meantime, new episodes exploring Emily and Sam’s next investigations will be available on Hallmark+.

It’s hard to believe that Mistletoe Murders premiered in 2024, and we’re just now discovering how much fun it is to watch the series. Fortunately, if the success on Netflix is any indicator, there’s reason to hope that Mistletoe Murders won’t end with season 3, and fans will have even more new seasons to look forward to. While Mistletoe Murders would be fun to watch any time of year thanks to the charming premise and likable cast, it hits even harder this time of year, and we can’t wait for November 5th when the series returns.
