Marshals has had an exciting stretch of episodes to begin its second season, but there won’t be a new installment of the series on CBS tonight, November 8. While Marshals season 2 has been moving consistently through its episodes thus far this fall, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and his fellow US Marshals have been working hard to ensure that Montana is safe and sound. The Yellowstone spinoff, which has followed Kayce in his next chapter post-Dutton ranch, has worked hard to establish its own identity, even though it’s struggled in doing so throughout its first stretch of episodes this season.
Although Marshals is coming off of an incredible two-part episode that finally solidified the series in a whole new way, viewers will have to wait to see the next installment of the CBS spinoff. The fourth and fifth episodes of the CBS hit saw Kayce and the rest of this team dealing with a case that brought a past threat back into view. After dealing with a life-threatening explosion, the Marshals ultimately saved the day. After a week of scheduling shifts for network TV due to the election cycle, Marshals won’t be on the air on Sunday, November 8 for the sixth episode of the season.
While Marshals season 2 episode 6, “Roughstock,” traditionally would’ve aired this Sunday evening, the episode has been delayed by the network in an interesting move. Even with Marshals taking a short break, the Yellowstone spinoff will be missed in its usual time slot by those who have been tuning in.

Although the typical time slot for Marshals is Sunday night at 8 p.m. often sees the series pushed back because of football games delaying the show’s airing, the Yellowstone spinoff isn’t being delayed because of sports tonight. Despite viewers having gotten the chance to see a preview of the next episode of Marshals at the tail end of last week’s installment, Marshals season 2 won’t be returning until next week with its sixth episode, as CBS is highlight another series for its audience. With Marshals in a prime spot for audience attention, the network is choosing to air a special episode of another show in its place.
Instead of the combination of Marshals and Tracker that CBS’ Sunday night viewers are used to, CBS will be airing a special new episode of its new series Cupertino, then showing encores of previous episodes throughout the rest of its evening programming block. Cupertino, created by the duo behind The Good Wife, Robert and Michelle King, is a legal drama that dives deep into the world of AI and the lack of governance around it thus far. With just a few episodes having aired so far, Cupertino getting Marshals’ time slot for the week could give it some great traction.

While Marshals season 2 episode 6 won’t air until Sunday, November 15 in its typical 8 p.m. ET time slot, the episode is set to be one worth the wait. With Cal’s (Logan Marshall-Green) ongoing cancer battle sending him away for a visit with a specialist, Andrea (Ash Santos) will be taking over his post and tasked with a tough first watch. When Kayce ventures outside of the Marshals’ jurisdiction to help Mo’s (Mo Brings Plenty) nephew out of trouble, Andrea will have to put aside their burgeoning personal relationship in order to maintain professionalism as his interim boss.
Marshals has been hinting at the idea of Kayce and Andrea’s relationship growing stronger throughout its second season, but throwing a wrench into their connection will make things even more interesting. With Andrea effectively becoming Kayce’s boss, even if it’s just for a short time, seeing their rapport when she has to exert power over him will be well worth the week’s wait. While Marshals may be delayed for a week, coming back to an episode that’s raising the stakes in new ways will ensure that the Yellowstone spinoff returns to CBS with a strong hook for its viewers.
