With Delicious in Dungeon’s first season having wrapped over two years ago, fans are understandably curious as to when they’ll be getting a new entry in the beloved series. Fortunately, a second season has been confirmed and is in the works, although fans will still have to wait a little while longer before that eventually pops up in our respective Crunchyroll feeds. Fortunately, while they wait, there is a brand-new Delicious in Dungeon crossover fans can enjoy.
This crossover arrives a short while after the official Delicious in Dungeon season 2 release date was announced. With months left to wait until Studio TRIGGER completes its work on the second season, this new crossover offers fans a new way of immersing themselves within the anime’s fun yet deceptively dark world and even the option to roleplay as two of the show’s best characters. It also gives Delicious in Dungeon the video game treatment it deserves. Well, almost.
Delicious in Dungeon is officially crossing over with the critically acclaimed Dragon’s Dogma 2. This crossover event comes just a few weeks after the launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2’s new DLC, which has already proven to be a huge success among fans, introducing a wealth of new content and necessary quality-of-life improvements. However, this is a limited-time event, one that will only be available in-game until January 29, 2027, after which it will disappear forever.
The crossover includes two new outfits based on Laios and Marcille, as well as pawns of both characters that can be hired at any point in the game. The latter have been handcrafted by Capcom to look as much like their anime variants as possible, which can be seen in the trailer below. The outfits will be automatically added to your in-game storage and can be kept after the crossover event has finished. However, should you not claim them before the event concludes, they won’t be made available to you.
This, at least for the length of the event, turns Dragon’s Dogma 2 into a Delicious in Dungeon game, something that fans have wanted for quite some time. It’s a shame we couldn’t get outfits and pawns based on other characters like Chilchuck and Senshi, but one can’t be too picky. It isn’t terribly surprising to see Dragon’s Dogma 2 crossover with the popular anime, as the series has done several of these events with other anime, including Berserk.
It remains to be seen if Capcom does any further crossovers for the game; however, at this stage, it seems rather likely. The game’s recent Dark Arisen expansion and launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 will have ushered in a wealth of new fans, but these crossover events help bring even more players to the game. So, it makes sense, at least for the foreseeable future, for Capcom to continue doing them. Yet, for now, our focus should be on this delightful Delicious in Dungeon Dragon’s Dogma 2 crossover and the incredible outfits and pawns it brings to the table.
