Tigers' Riley Greene exits Guardians game early after being hit on leg

Detroit — Tigers outfielder Riley Greene took a 92-mph sinker off his right leg from Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee leading off the second inning. He went down in pain but he waved off the Tigers’ training staff and hustle-jogged to first base.

One batter later, he scored from first on a double to the left-center gap by Spencer Torkelson.

It seemed like Greene was OK, but between innings, he was replaced in left field by Ben Malgeri.

Although there was no immediate word from the Tigers on the extent of the injury, presumably the area Greene was hit began to swell and he was pulled from the game.
