Despite Aston Villa’s apparently hard stance that Morgan Rogers is not for sale, the England international remains a top priority for Arsenal this summer, according to The Athletic.
With Leandro Trossard set to join Galatasaray in a €20 million deal, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to freshen up his attacking ranks, and he obviously sees Rogers as the right man to come in and provide additional quality to the Premier League champions.
Rogers only joined Villa from Middlesbrough two years ago for around €10 million, and last year he signed a new contract that runs until the end of the 2030-31 season. Villa are therefore in a very strong position and manager Unai Emery sees the 23-year-old as an important part of his plans for the upcoming season, when his team play in the Champions League following a Europa League triumph and a fourth-place Premier League finish.
Arsenal, however, aren’t expected to give up just yet, though they’ve already marked Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola as an alternative option.
