The Boston Celtics sending Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers was already huge news. However, it became even bigger news when people found out about the package the 76ers sent in return: Paul George and a haul of draft picks.
Considering Brown just had his best individual season, trading him away for such a package is not a good look. Even a Celtics legend like Robert Parish has shown extreme disappointment with how the team made the move.
Celtics legend Robert Parish likens the Jaylen Brown trade to the Luka Doncic deal
As a legendary player synonymous with the Celtics, Parish is passionate about his former team. He wants nothing but the best for them because he knows that they still have the capacity to compete at the highest level.
Unfortunately, that has taken a significant blow because their second superstar has been traded to a rival team. It is not the best trade they could have made because they got limited value from the deal while also sending a superstar-level player to one of their fiercest rivals.

It is a trade that’s been hailed as one of the worst moves in recent history. That history includes the egregious deal that sent Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Parish himself referenced the Doncic deal in his reaction to the Brown trade. It just goes to show that Brad Stevens has made one of the most polarizing deals of the past few years.
“I still do not like it. When I first heard about it, the first thing I thought about was the Dallas Mavericks when they moved Luka. Historically, a bad move, and I feel the same way about Jaylen being moved to the 76ers,” Parish said on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
Now, the Celtics have to keep it moving because they still have Jayson Tatum on the roster. They still have a superstar who can lead this team to the promised land, but he will need some help as they move forward.
