The New England Patriots got off to a slow start this season with two losses in their first three games. However, they have rebounded with impressive victories over the Buffalo Bills and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Quarterback Drake Maye was making multiple mistakes earlier in the season, either due to interceptions or simply missing open receivers. However, he has picked it up recently and that has helped the Patriots find their stride. He was sensational in the 45-17 victory over the Raiders, and that game could serve notice on the rest of the league that the third-year quarterback is ready to go on a hot streak for head coach Mike Vrabel.

Maye completed 26 of 34 passes for 374 yards with 4 touchdowns against Las Vegas and he also ran for another score. His ability to make plays with his legs could have a huge impact later on in the season when the Patriots are competing against quality defenses that know how to control the top receivers in the game.

Former Super Bowl winning quarterback and long-time NFL analyst Phil Simms has been impressed by the Patriots and he called them the best team in the league. While appearing on the “Up and Adams” program, he told host Kay Adams that he saw improvement from Maye that makes the Patriots very difficult to beat.

“He had a hitch in his throwing motion that caused him to throw the ball where he didn’t want it to go,” Simms said. “He fixed that in one week. If he keeps playing like that, he’s a guy who can lead his team to the Super Bowl.”
