Patriots C Jared Wilson reveals biggest learning curve this offseason

New England Patriots center Jared Wilson has gone through a learning curve while getting acclimated to switching positions this offseason.

According to CLNS’ Taylor Kyles, Wilson revealed to the media after training camp practice on Tuesday that studying plays has been crucial toward his adjustment to playing center in the NFL.

“Jared Wilson says the biggest learning curve with his full-time move to center was the playbook, noting how you can’t play fast if you’re questioning what you’re supposed to do,” Kyles posted on X.

Wilson played left guard for the Patriots last season. He started in all 13 of the games that he played with the team in 2025 and helped New England reach the Super Bowl at the end of the season.

However, the Patriots traded former starting center Garrett Bradbury to the Chicago Bears in the offseason and signed star guard Alijah Vera-Tucker in free agency, creating a vacancy at center that Wilson, who played the position at Georgia before entering the NFL, qualified to step into.

He is in a position to handle snapping duties for New England next season in a role that carries major significance for the team in what they’re expecting to be another Super Bowl-contending season.
