Oklahoma Softball announces 2027 SEC schedule

The Oklahoma Sooners announced their SEC softball schedule on Wednesday, and there was one notable team absent. The Oklahoma Sooners won’t play a three-game series against the Texas Longhorns.

The Red River Rivals have put together some fantastic series over the years, even selling out Devon Park, the home of the Women’s College World Series back in 2023.

The Oklahoma Sooners will open their SEC schedule March 12-14 in Athens, Ga., taking on the Georgia Bulldogs. In their SEC home opener, Oklahoma will host Big 8 and Big 12 foe Missouri March 19-21. After their home series, the Sooners will have a pair of big-time matchups when they take on Tennessee in Knoxville and then return home to face the Florida Gators.

Then on the weekend of April 16-18, the Oklahoma Sooners will head to Starkville, Miss., looking to avenge their Super Regional loss to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

After the weekend in Starkvegas, the Sooners return home to take on the LSU Tigers before a road trip to Columbia, S.C. to face the Gamecocks. To close the season, Oklahoma will host the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Six of Oklahoma’s seven SEC opponents made the NCAA Tournament last year. Three opponents made the Women’s College World Series: Tennessee, Mississippi State, Alabama.

The Sooners are hoping for a resurgent season in 2027 after falling short of the Women’s College World Series for the first time in a decade. Oklahoma returns a lot of its young roster, including Ella Parker, Gabbie Garcia, Kendall Wells, Kai Minor, and pitcher Audrey Lowry. Oklahoma also adds a talented freshman class that’s expected to contribute in 2027.
