The National Working Committee, NWC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has removed former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam and former House of Representatives member, Gbenga Elegbeleye from the party’s final list of National Assembly candidates. The decision also saw the replacement of five other senatorial aspirants and 19 House of Representatives candidates.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed July 7 for the hearing of all pending applications and the substantive suit filed by the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara, seeking to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise the Kabir Turaki-led interim National Working Committee of the party.

Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has arrested 28 persons allegedly involved in various criminal activities across the state. Among the suspects are a 56-year-old man identified as Iliasu and his three sons — Usman, 33; Wahab, 27; and Yakubu, 18 — who were arrested over the alleged abduction of a man in Oba Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

Bauchi State Police Command has warned residents, particularly parents and guardians, against taking shelter under trees during heavy rainfall after a windstorm killed two children and injured two others in Bashe Village, on the outskirts of Burra in Ningi Local Government Area of the state. The command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
