The Green Bay Packers have gone the entire 2026 season without star edge rusher Micah Parsons, who has spent months rehabbing a torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee. The injury, suffered Dec. 14, 2025, against the Denver Broncos, required surgery and kept him on the reserve/PUP list through training camp and every game since.
Green Bay has managed without him, riding a strong defensive effort to a 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 8. Head coach Matt LaFleur addressed Parsons’ recovery Monday, and the update marks a real step forward.

Micah Parsons slated to practice for first time since December

For the first time since December, Micah Parsons is slated to practice today, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Practicing opens the Packers’ 21-day window to activate Parsons from the PUP list, though it does not guarantee he plays Sunday against the New England Patriots.

LaFleur has been cautious throughout the process, calling the return “a process” while expressing hope Parsons could get on the field this week.

Why a full Micah Parsons return may still be weeks away
Even with practice reps, Green Bay is not expected to rush Parsons back into a game. Reports have pointed to the team’s Week 10 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings or its Thanksgiving Eve game against the Los Angeles Rams as more realistic targets.
The Packers have a Week 11 bye, giving the staff extra time to manage his workload before any potential season debut.
Green Bay’s defense will look to build on its Week 8 performance regardless of Parsons’ Sunday availability.
