The New York Giants return to action this week after a much-needed bye week.
The Giants are preparing to go on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9. And for the first time in a long time, the Giants come into this game as road favorites over the Eagles (3.5-point favorites, per FanDuel).
The 4-2-1 Giants currently have a 1.5-game lead in the NFC East over the 3-5 Dallas Cowboys and are currently the (slight) favorites to win the division. The conversation around the Giants has shifted dramatically since the preseason, going from whether they’ll show progress in John Harbaugh’s first season to whether the Giants will get their first division crown since 2011.
Looking ahead, the Giants face some stuff tests. Their final 10 games are:
- at Eagles (2-6)
- vs. Washington Commanders (2-4-1)
- vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2)
- at Indianapolis Colts (2-6)
- vs. San Francisco 49ers (6-1)
- at Seattle Seahawks (4-4)
- vs. Cleveland Browns (5-3)
- at Detroit Lions (5-2)
- at Cowboys (3-5)
- vs. Eagles (2-6)
The Giants’ tie with the Commanders complicates matters for the Giants’ division rivals. If New York can go 5-5 over the final 10 weeks and finish with a 9-7-1 record, the Cowboys would need to go 7-2 over the same stretch.
It’s obviously difficult to forecast games a month, or even a week, down the road. However, we want to ask the Big Blue View community simply and directly:
Will the New York Football Giants win the NFC East?
