The statement also referenced a recent meeting of first-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, hosted by the Kebbi governor, where participants discussed strategies for tackling insecurity while reaffirming support for President Bola Tinubu and APC governors seeking re-election.

It further noted that northern governors and traditional rulers later met in Kaduna and agreed to establish a regional security fund aimed at strengthening efforts to combat insecurity across the region.

According to the government, the proposed initiative will be coordinated by former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (retd.), alongside former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed, with participating states expected to contribute ₦1 billion monthly.

The state government appealed to residents, parents and community leaders to continue supporting ongoing security operations, expressing optimism that schools would reopen once conditions become conducive for safe teaching and learning.

It reiterated that while restoring access to education remains a priority, safeguarding the lives of pupils, students and teachers would continue to take precedence.
