Jacksonville State football LB Walker O'Steen leaves North Dakota State game

Jacksonville State football linebacker Walker O’Steen left the North Dakota State game with an injuryon Saturday, Aug. 29.

The CBS Sports Broadcast showed O’Steen heading into the sideline injury tent and said he was seen getting work down on his calf on the field.

The injury happened near the end of the third quarter, and O’Steen did not return before the quarter ended.

O’Steen is a fifth-year senior from White Plains, Alabama, who earned second-team All-CUSA honors last season.

Last year, O’Steen had 84 tackles, second-most among returners for Jax State. He added seven stops for loss and 2.5 sacks. During his career, he has 90 tackles with seven for loss and the 2.5 sacks. He played in two games in 2023 and 10 in 2024, before starting eight of the 14 games last year.

O’Steen earned second-team all-state honors at White Plains High School playing running back and linebacker. He is the younger brother of former Jax State lineman Will O’Steen.
