Kentucky WBB top 15 in preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

The Kentucky women’s basketball team has been up the upswing since Kenny Brooks took over the program. Last season, they rolled to the Sweet Sixteen, and this year, they’re looking for more. They have a talented roster, capable of a deep postseason run, and it has them starting the season ranked in the top 15.

In the preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, the Wildcats come in at No. 14. It’s a good starting point for a team returning its biggest star, its best three-point shooter, and that brought in one of the best recruiting classes in the country.

South Carolina sits at the top of the poll, but Kentucky is the fifth-highest ranking team from the SEC. The Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and Vanderbilt joins the Gamecocks inside the top ten. Seven SEC teams are ranked overall, and two more received votes.

Big Blue Nation is excited about this year’s team, and with good reason. This is Coach Brooks’ best team yet, and potentially one of the program’s best ever.
