The District 11 volleyball playoffs continue Monday, and multiple Schuylkill League programs are still alive in pursuit of a District 11 championship.
At the Class A level, the Schuylkill League is guaranteed a representative in the district finals as Nativity BVM will take on Marian Catholic at Martz Hall in Pottsville at 7:00 p.m. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of top-seeded Bethlehem Christian and Salem Christian, who meet Monday at 5:30 p.m. in Lehighton.
At the Class AA level, Tri-Valley will look for its third straight district championship this week after winning each of the last two Class A titles. After enjoying a bye in the first round, the Bulldogs will take on the fourth seed, the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils. That matchup is slated for 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
Additionally, Schuylkill Haven and Lincoln Leadership—both coming off first-round byes—will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at Martz Hall in Pottsville.
A champion will be crowned at the Class 3A level on Tuesday in Catasauqua as Pine Grove Area, the No. 2 seed, takes on the top-seeded Allentown Central Catholic Vikings.
Pine Grove defeated Mahanoy Area this past week in a three-set sweep, while Allentown Central Catholic took care of business against Pen Argyl in a three-set sweep of its own.
No Schuylkill League programs remain in the Class 4A playoffs after Panther Valley was eliminated by Northwestern Lehigh this week in four sets (3-1). Northwestern Lehigh, the No. 3 seed in the classification, will take on Bethlehem Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Catasauqua High School.
Finally, at the Class 5A level, Schuylkill League champion Pottsville will look for its first District 11 championship this upcoming week. Its opening matchup will be against Pocono Mountain East at Minersville High School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The winner will take on the winner of No. 2 Southern Lehigh and No. 3 Pleasant Valley on Thursday at a time and location to be determined.
