Linebacker Bobby Okereke, who led the New York Giants in total tackles in 2025, is signing with the Carolina Panthers, reports NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Sources: The #Panthers are signing former #Giants LB Bobby Okereke.

Okereke, 30, was released by the Giants one week before free agency began back in March and has drawn lukewarm interest in the free-agent market.

Okereke played three seasons for the Giants, signing on as a free agent in 2023. He played his first four NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.

Okereke was a salary cap casualty. The Giants saved $9 million in cap space by releasing him. That financial incentive was not the only reason they cut ties with the former Stanford star.

The Giants used those savings to add free agent Tremaine Edmunds, a bigger option at inside linebacker. They also filled the hole in the inside with first-round pick Arvell Reese, who has shown outstanding potential.
