FCT: Police intercept another vehicle with fake Presidency number plate

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command have intercepted another vehicle with a fake Presidency number plate in Abuja.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, indicated that the vehicle was being driven by one Mr Agboun Godson Benard when it was intercepted on Monday.

She said the black Toyota Corolla vehicle bearing Presidency registration number M01-997 FG is currently in custody as investigation continues.

“During preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle could not give a satisfactory explanation as to the source of the registration number.

“Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding its allocation, ownership and use, as well as the authenticity of the registration particulars,” Adeh said.

This is coming barely five days after a suspect allegedly impersonating a permanent secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, was arrested with a vehicle bearing a fake Presidency number plate.
