‘Dune: Part Three’ Is Officially Changing the Trilogy’s Award-Winning Formula

Dune fans have a lot to be excited about right now, but not least of which is the franchise’s return to the big screen with Dune: Part Three on December 18. The movie is opening on the same day as Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s set to be an even bigger event than when Barbie and Oppenheimer opened on the same day in 2023. Denis Villeneuve is returning to direct the third and final Dune movie before he begins work on the next James Bond film in the works at Amazon. In addition to the new Dune movie hitting theaters in just over one month, fans are also anxiously awaiting news about the long-awaited second season of Dune: Prophecy, which is expected, but not confirmed, to begin streaming on HBO Max early next year.
