Chris Pratt’s run as Star Lord in the MCU appears to be in an uncertain place, but there is another major project that the actor can sink his energy into. Pratt’s prestige in Hollywood has had its ups and downs. While the actor rose to fame thanks to his time playing Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation, his status as an action hero didn’t come to fruition until he joined the MCU.
Since then, Pratt has tackled several leading roles beyond Peter Quill, with a turn as the lead in the Jurassic World franchise, and a great deal of success in the animated space, where he has voiced characters like Emmet from The Lego Movie, Garfield in the 2024 film, and Mario in the wildly popular video game adaptation.
However, his latest leading action role can be found on the small screen, with Pratt playing the role of James Reece in The Terminal List on Prime Video. Initially, Pratt debuted in this role back in 2022, with the series gaining a lot of attention and love from audiences, while critics were more divided, however, the long-awaited season 2 just proved The Terminal List is a major property for Pratt and Prime Video.

It’s been four years since The Terminal List season 1 came to Prime Video, and while that could spell disaster for many shows, it seems as though this series has managed to endure, as season 2 has debuted on the platform and managed to rank as the top performing series on Prime Video.
Clearly, the wait may have been a struggle for fans who jumped on board for The Terminal List early, but it appears to have added to the hype and excitement for some, while also allowing for new fans to pick the show up in the years since it first landed on the platform. Now, with this season performing so well, it seems like an obvious move for Prime Video to invest more into the franchise.
And simultaneously, Pratt is in a good spot in his career to take on a larger TV role, and get into a more regular routine that could see future seasons come out far sooner. All together, it seems as though the stars have aligned to make this the perfect moment for The Terminal List to become a major IP on Prime Video.

Earlier in 2026, one of the most popular franchises on Prime Video came to an end when The Boys released their fifth and final season. While that show did end up getting a spin-off in the form Gen V, that series was unceremoniously canceled after just two seasons, but the franchise is hanging on with prospects like Vought Rising still on the slate.
On the other hand, franchises like Bosch appear to have run their course, while others like Reacher are still building out their central offerings and spin-offs. Overall, it seems as though Prime Video is in need of more stories that span multiple shows and highlight a handful of different characters.
Despite the anticipated additions to franchises like The Boys, it seems like now is the right time for Prime Video to set up new franchises and put some time into developing another TV universe, and The Terminal List seems like the perfect candidate.
With a prequel series, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, having come out in 2025, and the source material books providing a wealth of stories to tap into, it seems like The Terminal List is the perfect project for Chris Pratt and Prime Video to keep building and expand in the months and years ahead.
