BSU ASUU chapter embarks on strike over unresolved welfare issues

The Congress of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU-BSU), Benue State University, at its meeting held on 1st June 2026. after extensive deliberations on the persistent and unresolved welfare issues affecting its members, resolved, with the approval and permission of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Union, to embark on an indefinite, total and comprehernsive industrial action.

This decision became necessary following the failure to satisfactory address several welfare related matters that have lingered for a considerable period despite repeated engagements, representations, and assurances.

Congress noted with concern the continued neglect of these issues and the adverse effects they have had on the welfare, morale, and productvity of our members.

Accordingly, Congress resolved that all members of ASUU in the University should withdraw their services with immediate effect until substantial progress is made towards resolving the outstanding welfare concerns and other related matters in dispute.

Please accept the assurances of our highest regards.
