Drops are bound to happen in the NFL, but how a receiver handles himself after a drop says everything you need to know. Cleveland Browns wide receiver KC Concepcion had a brutal third-quarter drop; he was visibly hard on himself, but his quarterback quickly picked him up.
While speaking to the media following Sunday’s 27-24 win over the Tennessee Titans, quarterback Deshaun Watson spoke on what he said to his rookie wideout:
“The biggest thing was that ‘I need that.’ That was the first thing I said, man, ‘KC, I need that. You owe me one.’ But after that, hey, on to the next drive, on to the next play. ‘I’m going to keep coming to you, the opportunity is going to come,’ and that’s what we did.
So we both understand there’s some things where I might miss a throw, and they might say the same thing to me. We’ve earned that respect and I told those young guys that, ‘Hey man, just let me know if I need to be a little bit better also.’ I think that’s why we have that bond and that chemistry that we have.”

Concepcion had his coming-out party on Sunday, catching eight passes for 129 yards, showcasing the game-changing ability he has. He will get his chance to stack strong performances as Cleveland takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
