Seattle Seahawks may have ended up on the wrong side of a 19-16 scoreline against the Tennessee Titans in their latest NFL preseason game, but one man was all smiles during the game: quarterback Sam Darnold, who was interviewed as the game got underway.
Darnold was asked about his life off the field, including his marriage in April to his longtime partner Katie Hoofnagle in a ceremony in Santa Fe, California.
He described his wedding as the “best day of my life,” recalling the special moment with his wife.
“Amazing. The best day of my life. A special day to be able to spend with our loved ones and for everyone to be in the same place at one time, I don’t know if you’ll get another chance in your life to have that moment, so just incredible day, incredible night, I’m so happy to have everyone like I said.”
Sam Darnold’s Wedding Was Nothing Short of Dreamy
Sam Darnold and Katie Hoofnagle tied the knot at the scenic Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California in April with guests following an all-black, black-tie dress code. People who attended the wedding included Josh Allen and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, and Christian McCaffrey and his wife, Olivia Culpo.
The wedding was described by the happy couple as a “fun, energetic, upbeat weekend surrounded by friends and family from all chapters of our lives as individuals and a couple,” according to People.com, with 227 guests in attendance.
Darnold will now go about trying to help the Seahawks retain their Super Bowl crown as they start their campaign against the New England Patriots on Sept. 9.
