The Chicago Bears will be facing the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, and they’ll have some extra help on the defensive line. Bears’ Jeffery Simmons is ready toJeffery Simmons was acquired in a trade with the Tennessee Titans earlier in the week, and as much as the Bears are excited to have him on the team, he’s just as ecstatic.

One reason is that he gets to play in a big-time game, something he says he hasn’t done in a few years.

“I haven’t played in a primetime game in 2023,” Simmons said. “It’s been that long since I played in a primetime game. I think it was Thursday night against the Steelers. It’s exciting. When you get a primetime game, it means you’re doing something right. With this team, with their last year’s success, and, of course, this year, what more can you ask for to come into a situation to help this organization and team win big games, especially meaningful football around this time of the year. My first game being here in Chicago, I get to play on Monday night.

The good news is that Simmons seems to be built for the moment, and he’s going to make an impact on the team as soon as he hits the field. For a defense that hasn’t been able to get to the quarterback as much as they’d like, adding Simmons will give them a better chance to do so, as well as to stop the run.
