PSG8217;s academy produces talent like almost no other, making it impossible to hang on to every good young player.
Young players will always want to leave when they reach the right age and don’t see a pathway, and this summer will be no different.
The BBC are reporting today that young defender Emmanuel Mbemba is looking to leave on a free transfer, and that Arsenal have already made an approach.
The central defender can also play at left back, and was a regular for PSG’s Under 19 team.
Arsenal offer “Saliba” pathway to young defender
It’s not over yet – PSG have made an offer of their own. But it seems that Mbemba “is said to favour Arsenal,” who have shown him William Saliba’s development into a star at the Emirates after a series of loans back to France as an example of the pathway they can offer.
Mbemba would have to remain on loan in Europe until he qualifies for a British work permit.
Should he move, PSG would be entitled to compensation, with a sum of £150,000 mentioned in this piece.
In other news…
A major addition looks set to be coming to PSG this summer, with some today connecting the Parisians with Premier League star Morgan Gibbs-White.
Lucas Chevalier could leave PSG after just one year, with a top Premier League team apparently interested in signing him.
