He has covered everything from Marvel to the Oscars, and Marvel at the Oscars. He also writes obsessively about the box office, charting the many hits and misses that are released weekly, and how their commercial performance shapes public perception. In his time at Collider, he has also helped drive diversity by writing stories about the multiple Indian film industries, with a goal of introducing audiences to a whole new world of cinema.

One of the longest-running film franchises in history is currently in limbo, following two failed reboot attempts in one decade. The latest attempt was made in 2019 and marketed as a long-awaited homecoming for the franchise’s creator. However, past endorsements made by the illustrious filmmaker about earlier installments dampened the impact of his return. The movie bombed at the box office despite having received mostly positive reviews, leading its star to declare that the series, at least in its current form, had outstayed its welcome. This wasn’t the first time that the star expressed dismay about how one of the franchise’s films had turned out. He previously admitted a 2015 movie in the series entered production with a subpar script; the film in question is currently streaming for free in the United States, but only for a little while longer.

Despite its difficult production and poor reception, it remains a solid box-office hit. The movie grossed $440 million worldwide against a reported budget of $155 million, emerging as the franchise’s second-biggest hit. The franchise began in 1984 with a culture-defining hit that both cemented its star as an action hero and announced the arrival of its director. We’re talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Cameron, and their cult classic sci-fi movie The Terminator. Schwarzenegger and Cameron returned some years later with an even more influential sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Day. A third installment starring Schwarzenegger — Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines — was released without Cameron’s involvement in the early 2000s.

Your answers point to the iconic sci-fi hero who shares your instincts, your values, and your particular way of facing the impossible.

You carry a weight most people would crumble under — the knowledge of what you’re capable of, and the burden of what you might have to become.

  • You see further ahead than others and you plan accordingly, even when the vision frightens you.
  • You are driven by loyalty to your people and a sense of destiny you didn’t ask for but can’t escape.
  • Paul Atreides is not simply a hero — he is someone who understands the cost of power and chooses to bear it anyway.
  • That gravity, that willingness to carry what others won’t, is exactly you.

You lead with instinct, warmth, and an absolute refusal to accept a no-win scenario — because you’ve always believed there’s a third option nobody else has thought of yet.

  • You take the mission seriously without ever taking yourself too seriously.
  • Your crew would follow you anywhere, not because you demand it, but because you’ve earned it.
  • Kirk’s genius isn’t tactical — it’s human. He reads people, bends rules with purpose, and wills outcomes into existence through sheer conviction.
  • That combination of warmth, audacity, and relentless optimism is unmistakably yours.

You are the kind of person who holds the line when everyone else is losing faith — not because you’re fearless, but because giving up simply isn’t something you’re capable of.

  • You lead through conviction. Your voice carries because your belief is unshakeable.
  • You gave up everything ordinary the moment you chose the cause, and you’ve never looked back.
  • Leia is not a supporting character in her own story — she is the moral centre of the entire rebellion.
  • That same fierce, principled, unbreakable core is what defines you.

You are not reckless, not grandiose, and not particularly interested in being anyone’s hero — you just refuse to stop when it matters.

  • You see threats clearly, you document the truth even when no one listens, and when the time comes you handle it yourself.
  • Ripley’s heroism is earned, not performed. She doesn’t have a speech — she has a flamethrower and a plan.
  • You share her composure under the worst possible pressure, and her refusal to pretend the monster isn’t there.
  • When it counts, you don’t flinch. That’s everything.

You have been through fire that would break most people — and what came out the other side is something the world underestimates at its peril.

  • You don’t ask for help, don’t need validation, and don’t wait for anyone to tell you the rules no longer apply.
  • Your loyalty, when it finally arrives, is absolute — but it’s earned in silence and tested in action, not in words.
  • Max is not a nihilist. He is someone who lost everything and found, against his will, that he still has something worth protecting.
  • That bruised, stubborn, ultimately human core is exactly yours.

But we’re talking about Terminator Genisys. Directed by Alan Taylor, the movie rebooted the franchise with Emilia Clarke as the iconic Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese. Meanwhile, Jason Clarke played the Chosen One archetype, John Connor. The film received poor reviews upon release, and is now sitting at a 26% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The aggregator website’s consensus reads, “Mired in its muddled mythology, Terminator Genisys is a lurching retread that lacks the thematic depth, conceptual intelligence, or visual thrills that launched this once-mighty franchise.” Making the film was so difficult that Taylor contemplated quitting the business, while Clarke expressed relief that they weren’t going to make a follow-up. You can watch the movie on Tubi until November 1, and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

Terminator Genisys

When John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline.
