Seventy-four aspirants are jostling for House of Representatives tickets on the platform of the All Progressives Congres, APC, in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee in the state, Professor Mojeed Alabi, disclosed this during a press conference at the APC secretariat in Ibadan on Saturday.
Alabi, a former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, disclosed that 74 aspirants were cleared to contest the House of Representatives primaries in the state.
He explained that all grievances arising from the primares will be settled by the appeals committee.
He said, “We are to conduct the National Assembly primaries in all the 14 federal constituencies. Our own work is to superintend, collate the results and submit the reports to the National Secretariat. It is the National Secretariat that will announce the results of the elections.
“We are not to stay at a particular place. We are to monitor the elections. Our committee is not an appeal committee.
“Seventy four aspirants were cleared by the National Secretariat. We don’t have the number of the uncleared aspirants.”
