Among Texas A&M’s 24 commitments in the No. 1-ranked 2027 cycle, losing the recruiting battle for five-star cornerback John Meredith, who committed to the Texas Longhorns last week, is not the end of the world, knowing that fellow five-star CB Joshua Dobson, who remains a favorite to land with the Aggies, is set to announce his commitment next Wednesday.
If the Aggies can secure Dobson’s commitment on July 1, Texas A&M’s future secondary, which also includes blue-chip safeties Kamarui Dorsey and JayQuan Snell, is all but secure, especially with talented cornerback Raylaun Henry, who is now considered a five-star prospect according to ESPN, which is quite an achievement given the site’s competitive grading system.
Considered one of the more versatile defensive backs with potential as a lockdown cornerback, the idea that freshman and former five-star CB Brandon Arrington will play alongside Henry and, potentially, Joshua Dobson over the next three to four seasons is quite the image, given their NFL-level talent and ability to play zone and man coverage at a high level.
Ranked 19th overall in ESPN’s 2027 class rankings, ESPN writers Craig Haubert and Tom Luginbill noted that Henry impressed during his various workouts at the 2025 Future 50 and 2026 Under Armour All-America game, outright earning his fifth star.

Height, length, and elite speed with the fluid athleticism to immediately earn a rotational spot during his freshman season, and working with S&C coach Tommy Moffitt will result in healthy mass to fill out his frame and reach his full potential.
