Yakubu Gowon university promotes 34 academics to professorial ranks

The promotion exercise cut broad swaths across the university’s multi-disciplinary layout, directly reinforcing academic accreditations in core scientific, medical, and humanities departments.

Congratulating the newly elevated faculty members, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, emphasised that the exercise underscores the institution’s unwavering commitment to meritocracy and intellectual excellence.

“These promotions are not just about attaining a higher rank,” Vice-Chancellor Fawehinmi remarked.

“They reflect our core belief that hard work, research dedication, and consistent institutional service should be recognised and properly rewarded. The Vice-Chancellor further assured the campus community that the university administration will continue to streamline internal evaluation procedures to ensure subsequent promotion exercises are conducted seamlessly and on schedule, in strict compliance with university civil regulations.
