Will Donovan Jennings start again at left guard?

If you thought that the Green Bay Packers‘ week one offensive line questions were terrifying, just wait until tonight.

In that game, all the Packers really had to worry about was settling the left guard position with Aaron Banks out. On the eve of their week 3 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, the Packers ruled Banks out once again, and now they’re also missing right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele for the season.

At least the backup right tackle decision is easy: that will be Anthony Belton. But deciding on who to put at left guard in Banks’ place is less clear. They could just go back to Donovan Jennings, who started in Week 1 and who was the first man off the bench when Banks was hurt against the Jets last Sunday. Then again, Jennings played awfully in the opener and got banged up himself in Week 2, leading to playing time for Jager Burton.

Burton wasn’t bad in his short stint, either! And he got into the fray to stick up for his quarterback when Jordan Love took a big hit going across the goal line. Will he get the start over Jennings? We probably won’t know until warmups, as OC Adam Stenavich wasn’t giving anything away on Wednesday.

While we fret over the line, at least the defense has found a star in the slot. Let’s look at Javon Bullard‘s hot start to the season to give us some excitement heading into Thursday Night Football.

It certainly seems that Green Bay‘s special teams have improved from last year, and Achord is right in the middle of that improvement. This is perhaps the deepest dive into the team’s new coordinator, who once got a broken nose from Patriots special teams ace Justin Bethel.

Penalties, unsurprisingly, are one of them. Rushing yards and third down conversion rate are two others. A functional offensive line would certainly help!
