The 2026 women’s college volleyball season is getting started — Nebraska and Florida are set to go head-to-head under the lights at AT&T Stadium on Thursday.

Nebraska volleyball is no stranger to the spotlight. The Huskers are an absolute threat every year, yet the program hasn’t lifted the championship trophy since 2017. In a new era with Dani Busboom-Kelly as head coach, and with many star players entering their senior year, it’s now or never for Nebraska.

Florida has some history with the Huskers. Despite never having won a national title, the Gators were runners-up on multiple occasions, including 2017 when they fell to Nebraska 3-1. Florida has made several tournament runs since then, but only reaching the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds before getting eliminated.

The winner of this matchup will continue on to the Spikes Under the Lights championship later in the evening, facing either SMU or Penn State.
