Where did Missouri football land in latest top-25 coaches poll?

Missouri football moved up two spots in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, which was updated Tuesday. The Tigers now hold the No. 23 ranking in the national poll following their season-opening, 40-point win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday in Columbia.

Mizzou jumped ahead of Clemson, which was blown out by LSU in Week 1 and fell out of the poll, and Michigan, which beat Western Michigan in extremely controversial circumstances and dropped eight spots to No. 24.

Missouri next faces Kansas at 7 p.m. Friday in Lawrence, Kansas.

There were 10 SEC teams ranked among the top 25, which was the most of any conference.

Georgia and Texas moved up one spot each to Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, behind only top-ranked Ohio State.

After Georgia and Texas, LSU was No. 8, Texas A&M was No. 9, Oklahoma was No. 10, Ole Miss was No. 11 and Alabama was No. 12.

Elsewhere in the SEC, Tennessee was No. 18 and Florida was tied for the No. 25 spot with Virginia, which is quarterbacked by former MU starer Beau Pribula. South Carolina and Auburn each received votes but were unranked in the poll.

There are 72 FBS head coaches who vote in the poll, including Mizzou head coach Eli Drinkwitz. Former Missouri OC Kirby Moore, now the head coach at Washington State, and Missouri State head coach Casey Woods, who previously worked as an assistant under Drinkwitz, also are voters this season.
