“The Incredible Hok” doesn’t care about size.

On paper, fighting Curtis Blaydes and Lewis back-to-back in just his fourth fight in the promotion is absolutely insane, but Hokit is up for the task — especially given what he saw from Lewis in his last performance.
Lewis was stopped by Waldo Cortes-Acosta at UFC 324 to kick off 2026, but it was the way it happened that raised eyebrows. “Salsa Boy” hit Lewis with a jab that put him on the canvas, and after that, the fight was basically over. Cortes-Acosta pounced with follow-up shots until the referee jumped in (watch highlights).
Many fans believed Lewis gave up in that moment.
And Hokit agrees.
“It doesn’t matter the size [of my opponent], it’s all about tactics, skill. It’s about fighting within yourself — and I got the speed and cardio,” Hokit told UFC on Paramount recently, not playing his character. “Obviously, I can’t get hit by him, but my will is greater than his, and that alone is all that really matters.”
“In his last fight, he gave up,” Hokit continued. “It’s hard to respect a man who gives up on himself. They talk about 16 knockouts and all this — on paper, he’s a respectable opponent, and he has a big name, but it won’t matter if your mind isn’t there.”
Hokit is coming off one of the best fights of the year against former title challenger Blaydes — a scrap that forced him to dig deep as both men gave it everything they had and hurt each other multiple times.
And with that being only his third fight in the promotion, Hokit is now walking into UFC Freedom 250 with extreme confidence against the all-time leader in UFC knockouts.
Of course, confidence is great until Lewis touches your chin.
But Hokit believes Lewis’ mind is no longer in the same place, and if “The Incredible Hok” is right, he could score the biggest win of his career on the biggest stage UFC has ever created.
If he’s wrong?
Well, he might be waking up and looking at the Washington D.C. skyline.
