It’s been a slow year for boxing, but fight fans are going to get to watch the biggest bout of 2026 when Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua square off.
The fight community has begged for this encounter over recent years, and now it’s set to happen. The two Englishmen have never met in the ring before, but Fury versus Joshua has been discussed for over a decade with lots of bad blood between the two men.
Netflix confirms the former WBA and IBF champions are slated to meet Dec. 11 in Cardiff, Wales. The bout takes place at the Municipality Stadium, where Joshua has successfully defended multiple titles in his career.
The 36-year-old Joshua claimed victories in 2017 and 2018 over Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker, respectively. Meanwhile, the venue has hosted other major sporting events like soccer’s 2017 UEFA Champions League final, when Real Madrid topped Juventus, 4-1.

It’s been a busy year for both Fury and Joshua inside the ring. Both men enter December’s monster fight coming off victories in July.
However, this bout holds significantly more meaning as two of the great heavyweight fighters finally have the chance to settle their war of words over the years. Fury’s always been one of the most vocal boxers in the sport and a king of trash talk.
Joshua’s just nine months removed from being involved in a deadly car crash that tragically killed his trainer Latif “Latz” Ayodele and strength trainer Sina Ghami. The former champion survived the accident in Nigeria just 10 days after defeating influencer Jake Paul.

Meanwhile, both Englishmen are two years removed from losing their respective world championships. Joshua dropped his IBF title belt after being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in December 2024.
Fury suffered two consecutive losses at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk that same year and subsequently conceded WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO and TheRing titles.
