TreVeyon Henderson breaks silence with four-word injury response

New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is expected to be available for the Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He broke his silence on Thursday when asked about his status for the AFC matchup, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

“I’m ready to go,” Henderson said.

Henderson had not practiced with the Patriots since August 24, heading into this week. He was inactive for the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks, and his absence was felt. The Ohio State product returned to practice this week, with all signs trending toward him being available on Sunday.

It’s great timing after the offense lost star wide receiver A.J. Brown for multiple weeks with an ankle injury. Along with serving as a home-run threat on the ground, Henderson will also add another reliable receiving weapon to the mix for third-year quarterback Drake Maye.

Henderson’s return should serve as a major boost to the Patriots’ offense against an aggressive Steelers defensive front.

The unit desperately needs a spark following a disappointing season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Maye threw three interceptions, and the offense was stuck in the mud for four quarters of football in the 13-10 loss. Henderson will have a chance to make a difference on Sunday.
