Titans vs Jets weather forecast for Sunday game: Prepare for heat index over 100

The Tennessee Titans will have a hot start to the 2026 season.

The Titans and New York Jets will kick off the 2026 regular season at noon on Sept. 13 at Nissan Stadium.

Temperatures are forecast to rise above 90 degrees at kickoff according to the National Weather Service, and the heat index will be above 100 degrees by game’s end.

Next year, the Titans will play inside the enclosed new Nissan Stadium just a few yards from the current outdoor Nissan Stadium. But for one more season, Titans home games will be played in the elements.

At kickoff, the National Weather Service forecast calls for virtually no wind and sunny skies, with the temperature at 90 degrees and a heat index of 98.

The heat will only rise throughout the day, with the forecasted temperature of 93 degrees and a heat index of 101 by game’s end.

With sunny skies and little cloud cover, along with calm winds, it’ll be an especially warm afternoon at Nissan Stadium.

The next week in Nashville will be much of the same, with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s through Friday according to the NWS’s forecast.
