The Legend Of Zelda’s Wilds Era Finally Coming To Official End March 2027

The Legend of Zelda has been through quite a few distinct areas as a franchise over the years, from the earliest days in the mid 1980s to the modern day open world experiences that fans have become so attached to. Whatever your favorite happens to be, most agree that the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom period has been one of the best to date.

They serve as the first 3D open world games in the history of The Legend of Zelda, and Nintendo did a wonderful job creating games that players could spend hundreds of hours exploring. That said, there has been a certain movement in recent times that suggests the community at large are ready to move on, in whatever the next game happens to be.

While we will obviously have to wait to hear from Nintendo about what their concrete plans are for the next game, if it is the end of an era, there’s one more release that could serve as a lovely way to say goodbye for fans.

Over on Amazon, you should be able to find the store listing for the Hero’s Edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Secrets of the Zonai. Published by Dark Horse Books, it essentially functions as a near 400-page collection of much of the art that went into the titular game, as well as all the sketches and illustrations that made up part of that process. In letting fans know a little about what they can expect, the publisher posted the following description:

“Start your journey with Secrets of the Zonai. Pore over 50 pages of beautiful illustrations, character art, and promotional images. Then, dive into nearly 300 pages of behind-the-scenes sketches, notes, rough designs, concept art, and recollections that provide an exclusive look at the development and creation of the game.

“Next, travel back to a time before the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, with over 80 pages of Hyrule’s history that include insights into the mysterious past of the Zonai all the way up to the events of the game. Finish your quest with interviews with the legends behind this most recent entry of The Legend of Zelda: Producer Eiji Aonuma, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa!

“The slipcase features the lush green favored by ancient Zonai, and includes the Secrets of the Zonai art book with an exclusive cover, a map of the Depths printed on cloth, an art print of Link and the Sages, and a beautiful replica of the Secret Stone of Time.”

Lots More Zelda To Come

The only bad news is that the book has been delayed somewhat, so it will now be dispatched to customers who pre-order in April 2027. That should make it the perfect accompaniment to the upcoming movie release, which should, in turn, pave the way to some kind of announcement from Nintendo about where The Legend of Zelda is going next, whether it’s going to stay the course or not.
