Arch Manning’s college football career has hit another major roadblock after his interception in the final 20 seconds cost the Texas Longhorns their game against the Oklahoma Sooners.

The quarterback’s draft stock was already taking a hit after his sub-par start to the season. However, he had the chance to change it all with 20 seconds to go and the game tied at 24. With a chance to help extend the Longhorns’ unbeaten streak, Manning threw an interception that helped the Sooners get the ball back and make big plays to get within field goal range to bag a 27-24 win against the number-one-ranked team.

Manning threw for 260 yards and even had 3 touchdowns during the game, but it was the interception that proved to be too costly for the Longhorns.

Former LSU player Breiden Fehoko took to X and expressed his disappointment on the performance with harsh words for the 22-year-old.

The Longhorns QB came into the season with hopes of cementing his name as the first overall pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. However, his performances have not attracted a lot of praise, in fact analysts have also suggested the player could use another year in college.

After his mistake against the Sooners, Fehoko completely dismissed his chances of being a first-round pick.

“Please don’t ever talk to me about no Arch Manning again. If this kid goes first round that’s straight Nepotism and you know it,” Fehoko said on his X account.

With QBs like Darian Mensah, Trinidad Chambliss and Drew Mestemaker all firing, it is unlikely that Manning has a chance to be the top QB pick in the draft.

However, there are still many games left in the college football season. If Manning can turn things around and help the Longhorns make a deep run, NFL teams could take a chance on his potential.
