We’re two games into Week 4, and an NFL trade partner for Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph may have just become painfully (and unfortunately) obvious.
During the Week 4 London game between the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders, veteran Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury and was taken to the locker room. This left the Commanders, who already saw Jayden Daniels suffer a devastating elbow injury in Week 2, down to their third-string quarterback in seventh-round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis. If Mariota is forced to miss a large amount of time, the Steelers would be wise to give Washington a call about a potential Rudolph trade.

Rudolph, who played with the Steelers (2018-2023, 2025-present) and Tennessee Titans (2024), is one of the most experienced backup quarterbacks in the NFL. In 35 games, including 19 starts, Rudolph has thrown for 4,925 yards and 30 touchdowns. He’s also amassed an 8-5-1 record as a starter with the Steelers.
With four quarterbacks already at their disposal, the Steelers would be the ideal trade partner if the Commanders are looking for a reliable backup to play until Daniels returns from injury.
