The future of Thiago Pitarch has become a key talking point at Real Madrid this summer, as the squad continues to go through some recalibration after the slew of new signings.
Pitarch has been linked with a move to Fulham, with former coach Alvaro Arbeloa keen on reuniting with the young midfielder at Craven Cottage.
This has led to question marks over Pitarch’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu heading into the new season.

According to Diario AS, Pitarch will not be leaving this summer and will instead be part of Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans.
The decision is said to be a direct result of Mourinho’s wishes, with the Portuguese having played a crucial role in keeping the youngster at the club.
Despite being registered with Castilla due to an overabundance of senior squad numbers, Pitarch will be treated as a full-time first-team player rather than relegated to the reserves.
It represents a significant show of faith in the breakout star of last season, and fulfils Pitarch’s own desire to succeed at Real Madrid.
Mourinho was opposed to sanctioning the departure of both Pitarch and Brahim Diaz, viewing them as useful options for the campaign ahead.

Pitarch is staying despite some genuinely attractive offers, the most compelling of which came from Fulham.
The appeal there was obvious, with Arbeloa’s presence, the financial package and the promise of a prominent role all in Fulham’s favour. Above every option, though, Pitarch prioritised staying and fighting for his place at Real Madrid.
His pre-season was disrupted by a torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee, an injury expected to keep him out for around six weeks. However, the setback has done nothing to change Mourinho’s mind.
Once fit, Pitarch faces fierce competition in Mourinho’s midfield, with Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Bernardo Silva all vying for spots in the double pivot.
Notably, with Rodri now heading to Barcelona rather than the Bernabeu, an opportunity may yet open up for the talented teenager to stake his claim.
