Players to watch, Week 4 depth chart for Florida football vs Ole Miss

Florida football players relish each opportunity to play The Swamp.

The No. 22 Florida Gators (3-0, 1-0 SEC) are expecting for the crowd to play a role again when they host No. 6 Ole Miss (3-0, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday, September 26 (3:30 p.m., ABC).

“It’s a huge advantage, especially on defense,” Florida football defensive lineman Jayden Woods said. “If the stadium is insanely loud, the offense, they can’t operate, they can’t communicate, some teams they have to go silent count, it depends. Really, that’s a huge advantage, for us as a defense.”

Florida has won five of its last six games at The Swamp, which included an upset of No. 9 Texas last season. The Gators will play before their 21st straight sellout.

“The Swamp is a very hostile environment,” Florida sophomore wide receiver Vernell Brown III said. “You know. 90,000-plus fans, they’re on our side. It’s kind of like a 12th man on the field. And you know we know the fans will show up and show out every Saturday and give us that little advantage.”

Here are five players to watch for UF, and a depth chart:
QB Aaron Philo

The 6-foot-2, 207-pound Philo is 3-0 as a starter for UF and ranks sixth in the SEC in passing, having completed 47 of 64 passes for 721 yards with 6 TDs and 2 interceptions. Aided by a strong run game, Philo has averaged just more than 21 pass attempts per game.

“He’s right at kind of where we want him, maybe a few more,” Faulkner said. “He’s played good enough to kind of cut him loose a little bit.”

The 6-1, 225-pound Baugh has posted three straight 100-yard games to open the 2026 season and is striking the Heisman pose in the end zone to bolster his Heisman campaign. For the season, Baugh is leading the SEC with 458 yards rushing and 8 TDs on 8.4 yards per carry. Baugh will look to extend his string of 100-yard games to five straight, dating back to the end of the 2025 season.

The 5-11, 174-pound Brown leads UF in receiving with 14 catches for 246 yards and 2 TDs, while also scoring two more 2 TDs on punt returns. Brown is on pace to eclipse the 512 receiving yards he amassed during his freshman season.

Obviously, with the game of football, and especially as a receiver, there are a lot of things that are outside of my control,” Brown said of his year two improvement. “But just really doubling down on my process and continuing to develop as a player, and obviously, with the new system, really learn the system and continue to put in the work.”

Woods is coming off a week in which he earned Chuck Bednarik Award national defensive player of the week honors with 6 tackles. 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks against Auburn. For the season, the 6-3, 245-pound Woods has posted 15 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

“You can’t solely base how you feel and how you work based on results,” Woods said. “For me, it’s right back to chalk board. Right back to my process. You know whatever happens on Saturday, happens. I can’t control the stat line. I can’t control that, but I can control how I work Monday through Friday on Saturday.”

McClain recorded his first interception of the season and third of his career during UF’s 44-39 win over Auburn. A former five-star recruit from Lakeland, the 6-2, 181-pound McClain will be counted on in coverage to help contain speedy Ole Miss receiver Duece Alexander.
