Patrick Stewart, Star Trek & X-Men Star, Dies At 86

After an iconic 67-year career, Patrick Stewart leaves behind a legacy with his death.

Stewart has died at the age of 86 in his Los Angeles home. At the time of this writing, no cause of death has been reported on the late star’s passing. The tragic news was announced on Stewart‘s official X account, which said that the actor passed away “in the loving care of his beloved wife Sunny, following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.”

Marvel Studios also released a statement expressing their sadness at Stewart’s passing. “Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans,” they said, adding that he was a “singular talent, a generous collaborator and a true gentleman.”
