NSCDC operatives rescue two kidnap victims, foil cattle rustling in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command said its personnel have foiled a kidnap and cattle rustling attempt at Bakin Komau, Dangora area in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State.

A statement by the Commandant’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, said the incident occurred on Thursday when armed assailants attacked a shepherd, inflicted serious injuries on him, and abducted his two children while attempting to rustle livestock.

The statement said following an intelligence, “NSCDC personnel stationed around nearby Dansoshiya Forest swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the criminals in a gun duel.”

According to the statement, NSCDC superior firepower overwhelmed the criminals who fled into the forest with injuries.

The statement claimed the two rescued persons, Abubakar Saleh, 36 years old and Muhammad Inuwa Dille, 30 years old after were reunited with their families after examined by doctors at the primary health care.

The injured shepherd, 70-year-old Alhaji Saleh, is receiving immediate medical care.
